Welcome to Metro Fitness!Metro Fitness differentiates itself from the typical ‘gym’ experience by being more customer service oriented, more focused on personalized training, and more passionate about creating an environment that’s motivating, welcoming, supportive, and unintimidating. We also take pride in our club’s infrastructure and professional team of trainers and instructors, many of whom have advanced degrees in exercise science and other specialized certifications. Combined, we’re uniquely qualified to help clients of all ages achieve a ‘Strong Mind, Strong Body, and Strong Nutrition. Randy's BioRandy Sabourin (shown here with his three daughters) is a 1988 graduate of SUNY Cortland where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and a Conference title in Wrestling. Randy has been certified as a Personal Trainer, Medical Exercise Specialist and Post Rehab Conditioning specialist. In 1995 Randy established "Personal Fitness" Downtown in the basement of Salina Place as a small, exclusive, private boutique, personal training studio. The downtown studio has undergone several expansions and renovations over the past 26 years which has earned him recognition from CenterState CEO as an economic champion for adding employees and jobs in 2013,14,15 & in 2016 and for opening the Metro Fitness East Club in Fayetteville. In 1997 Randy opened and operated a Medical Exercise and Personal Training studio out of the CNY Medical Center in collaboration with Crouse Hospital. Randy served the needs of local Doctors, Patients, Syracuse University faculty and residents of the University area for 15 years. Randy also has a Corporate Wellness component to his business with programs that encourage employees to set personal goals toward adopting healthy lifestyles. Randy also created a 42 day lifestyle transformation club program called "Metro42" utilizing the services of a health coach, licensed mental health professional, and personal trainers. Metro Fitness has been ranked as one of CNY's Best Places to Work in 2013,14,15,16 & 2017 and in 2013 Metro was recognized by the CNY recreation and parks society with a "special event award" for offering free fitness classes in Clinton Square that continue today as "Wellness Wednesdays" with support from American Heart and Syracuse Parks & Recreation Department. Most recently Metro Fitness was recognized as one of the Downtown Committees "perfect partners" for community wellness in Syracuse. Randy also serves on the board of directors for the American Diabetes Association. |
